SUSPENSION OF THE BAN OF ENTRY IN THE SCHENGEN ZONE
The Schengen zone
The Schengen zone is a zone or area consisting of 26 European countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement and the Schengen Convention, which, among other things, regulate the abolition of border control between the borders of signatory states, but also tighten border control with countries that do not belong to the Schengen zone.
Here you can read the list of countries belonging to the Schengen area, which are:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Netherlands, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
The territories of the Schengen signatory states do not completely coincide with the territories of the states belonging to the European Union. In particular, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein do not belong to the European Union but are signatories to the Schengen Agreement. On the other hand, certain countries, such as Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria, have been in the status of joining the Schengen zone for some time, so it is only a matter of time before the Schengen territory expands.
The ban of entry in the Schengen zone
As a rule, the ban on entering the Schengen zone countries is entered in the SIS II (Schengen Information System), which makes the person an undesirable person in the Schengen territory. In most cases, the person who has been banned from entering, the competent authorities enter the appropriate letter mark in the passport (or other travel document).
The procedure regarding the deletion of the ban on entry into the Schengen zone countries is conducted before the competent authority of the state that imposed this ban, and decides on the same. This procedure is characterized by a high degree of protection of personal data, and can only be initiated by an authorized lawyer or a specific person who has been banned from entering.
The ban on entering the Schengen zone is not at all naive and deleting it is not an easy task, but our law office with many years of experience in this process successfully provides legal assistance to clients regarding the ban and lifting of the ban on entering the Schengen zone.
